Rising Stars School of Dance

About Us

Rising Stars School of Dance is an all-inclusive, recreational dance studio offering lessons to dancers beginning at 6 months old. Located in the White Birch Plaza in Chicopee, MA, we are easy to get to from Ludlow, Springfield, Wilbraham, Chicopee and more. As a Dancely™ Licensed Studio, our 6 months to 18 years old programs provide exercise, education and entertainment through original music, dance and movement. All dancers can experience classes in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, and more. Our unique musical theatre program encompasses stage improv, acting, and voice, as well as musical theatre-style dance. Dancers have multiple opportunities to perform and continue their dance education through NADAA conventions and our Company Performance Team. Special Olympics is changing the way people with intellectual disabilities are seen in the world.
Rising Stars has partnered with Special Olympics Massachusetts to provide weekly, free dance classes to athletes with intellectual disabilities.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES
If you are looking for an indoor (or indoor/outdoor) open space to host your next party, look no further than Rising Stars!
That's right, we host parties! Whether you want a "done for you" event, or just the space to rent, we have an option for you.

"A schooling experience focused on the fine arts through teacher led lessons, child led learning and group and individual experiences."
Rising Stars Homeschool Fine Arts Academy explores music (voice and instrument), art (history, visual) theatre (history, musical, playwriting), yoga/ Pilates/ stretching, dance (ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics) and outdoor exploration. Meeting two hours a day, twice a week allows each student time to work on
projects and spend time exploring the arts.
Each week has a theme and projects are completed between the two days of classes. Some weeks focus heavily on one or two subjects, some weeks spend a little time on each. The program is divided into 3
levels, but all levels work together and meet at one time (ie., student A gets a level 1 project, student B gets a level 2 project; both work at the same table at the same time to create their level appropriate project). All supplies are provided by the program!


FAQ

What age groups do you offer classes for?
We welcome dancers of all ages, starting as young as 2 years old. Our programs are designed to grow with your child, offering age-appropriate instruction from toddler to teen.
What if my child misses a class?
We understand that life happens! While we don’t offer make-up classes for every absence, we do our best to accommodate when possible. Please reach out to the studio for options.
Do you have a recital or performance opportunities?
Absolutely! Our annual recital is a highlight of the year, giving dancers the chance to showcase their hard work on stage. We also offer competitive team opportunities for dancers who want to take their training to the next level.
Are parents allowed to watch classes?
We host designated parent observation days throughout the year. This allows families to see their dancer’s progress while maintaining a focused learning environment during regular classes.
What should my child wear to class?
Each dance style has its own dress code. Ballet students typically wear leotards, tights, and ballet shoes, while hip hop dancers can wear comfortable athletic wear and clean sneakers. Specific guidelines are provided upon registration.
